Our 42-hour course is state-certified and designed to effectively prepare students for a successful career in the private security industry as an unarmed security officer. Students who pass the course will be well-equipped to handle the duties of a security officer and will have met the training requirements for the Class “D” license, as outlined by Florida Statute Chapter 493.
Each class will be taught Monday-Thursday, 7:30am to 6pm for a total of 42 hours. Students who register for the course will required to bring a pen, paper, and their driver’s license to the class location. No security experience is required.

At the conclusion of the course, students will be required to pass an exam before receiving a certificate of completion. This certificate will fulfill the Class “D” training requirement. Class “D” licenses are distributed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), and an appointment with one of their offices is required to submit the application. Licensing and fingerprinting fees will apply and are not covered by the cost of this course.
A temporary license will be issued by FDACS upon successful application submission, and licensees are eligible to begin work right away. The permanent CLass “D” license will be issued within 30-90 days after applications submission.
